Festivo Bells in Dayton, Ohio!

On April 15, the Festivo Bells packed up our tables, pads, mallets and bells and made our way to the Dayton Convention Center where we joined 700 other ringers in the Area 5 Region. This included folks from Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, and of course Ohio.   We began with an amazing performance by the Purdue Bell Choir and then immediately went to an hour and a half massed bell rehearsal.   What a joyful sound all those bells made!

Saturday morning we had rehearsals and classes that continued throughout the day and culminated in a performance of the compositions we had worked on all weekend.   The clinician for this event was a composer that the Festivo ringers love to play:  Kevin McChesney!   He did a marvelous job keeping all 700 of us playing in perfect rhythm and with beautiful musicality.    We all learned a lot and were reminded of things we may have forgotten.   t was a wonderful time of fellowship, hard work and great music making.   We look forward to sharing all we learned and continue to learn as we conclude this program year and look forward to next year.
