... A fantastic Walking Tour set of concerts began with the Children's Chorus at 5:45 PM and moved into rousing carols both sacred and secular from the Chancel Choir and Festivo Bells. I Saw Three Ships may become a yearly tradition! Joy Hire's always beautiful Angel Choir concluded the evening as we began to prepare for Christmas in earnest. The season continued with glorious weekly anthems ranging from Lo' How a Rose E're Blooming to Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium and Fred Gramann's beautiful arrangement of anthem carols for hand bells.
Christmas Eve was truly beautiful with solos by WIlliam Kohut on violin, and good friends and alumni at the 6:30 PM to sing with the youth Choir, with Amelia Anderson on French horn. This holiest of days ended with a contemplative and meaningful Communion service led musically by the Chancel Choir.
Special Thank you to Jon Farris for the beautiful readings on Christmas Day as we met with Centenary Methodist and Granville UCG to celebrate together on Christmas Day.
My most sincere gratitude to all of the musicians who give their time and talents in support of the programs at FPC. Your continued dedication to making quality music has created a marvelous tradition for which I am proud to be a part.
