Faith

How Much Is Enough?

How Much Is Enough?

Instead of being so focused on securing a storehouse for the future, it may simply be paying attention to our lives here and now…

Jesus isn’t telling people to be reckless. He is telling us to be careful. Life doesn’t consist of an abundance of possessions.

Because God’s abundance is so much more.

Faith: God's vision on the horizon

Faith: God's vision on the horizon

Faith can put you at odds with the world around you. Faith can make you feel like you’ve set out on a journey to a spot that is eternally eluding you. Just out of sight on the horizon…

Having Faith can often put you in a tent, feeling like an immigrant in a place that God promised would be yours. And there are times where this feeling, this other-ness, makes you want to close up the doors of your tent, stare at the wall, and let go of hope.

But having faith in God means that no matter how tightly you have closed the doors of your tent, God’s vision for this world is still out there on the horizon.

Having faith means looking forward as Abraham did, and seeing the unseeable things that God only God had seen before.

Confessing & Shining

Confessing & Shining

Wherever you are in this process today,
whether you are hearing God’s word for the first time,
or letting that word take hold at the level of your heart
or confessing your faith with your word and joining the church,
or whether you have been burning your light so long that you are in need of some care taking…

Wherever you are in this process,
May Christ light shine out into your heart,
May your words be soaked with God’s living word,
And may your life become a beacon to the world, shining out into the darkness with Christ’s light
