It Is Not Yet Ceramic

It Is Not Yet Ceramic

God is like the master potter, able to whip up a bowl in seconds, able to move the clay with effortless ease.

But our master potter is a perfectionist… and this clay is still not where it could be…
God is still molding us and remaking us…
Still working on us and our world,
remaking all of it into this perfect vision God has imagined from the start.

So don’t lose hope.
God has brought us to the potter’s house to see this vision for the world…
God is the potter… and we are still the clay…

It’s in Our DNA

It’s in Our DNA

Resilience is built right into us. Baked into us. Code that can be turned on at just exactly the right time. And the even more amazing part is that we can pass that resilience down to our children. That switch that turns on at just the right time? We pass that down, too. We don’t just pass down the potential for resilience, we pass down resilience itself.

We are fearfully and wonderfully made, the Psalmist writes. And the more I learn, the more I am astounded. Just astounded.

God’s Promise – a World of Hope

God’s Promise – a World of Hope

Destruction is not God’s intention: re-creation is!

I for one am searching for a word of hope, and I think scripture provides just that. I think these verses reaffirm God’s deep and wide love for the world, God’s desire to refresh us and renew us, God’s vision for community where tears are dried and death will be no more. Someday…. Somewhere…

Let these words of the Revelation do this for you as well… let them reawaken something deep inside you. Let yourself remember your own longing, and feel it, deeply.

Let God’s word draw you toward something wonderful, and beautiful. A vision of what can be.
